Independent Living at Bruyere Gardens
Affordable Independent Housing for Seniors
Bruyere Gardens at D’Youville Life & Wellness Community is Greater Lowell’s premier housing for senior adults who desire to live independently, but are in need of affordable housing. Bruyere Gardens is a 63- unit HUD-202 PRAC (Project Rental Assistance Contract) affordable housing community governed by the rules and regulations of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for seniors 62 years of age and older.
Bruyere’s sixty-three spacious apartments are beautifully appointed and are designed to provide tenants with a comfortable home setting. Units are pet friendly, and include conveniences such as cable and telephone hookups and unit-controlled central air and heat as well as emergency pull-cords in the bedroom and bathroom, walk-in showers with grab bars, and audio-visual security phones that link directly to the front entrance.
The common areas in the Bruyere community are ample and comfortable – places where our tenants may gather to read, enjoy a game together, write, or meet for social events. Tenants may relax in front of the fireplace in one of our two beautiful lobbies, enjoy the outdoors in the D’Youville Park, borrow the latest novel from our library, or work on a project in our arts and crafts studio. Tenants also enjoy many of the activities and programs offered at D’Youville Life & Wellness Community – whether attending a fitness class, grocery shopping in town via the D’Youville Bus, or participating in Mass and other faith services at the D’Youville Chapel. Life at Bruyere Gardens is much more than just an apartment living experience – our tenants are a true community, often developing close and lasting friendships.
